Miami has been buzzing with the hopeful energy of spring lately, making it the ideal time to get out and enjoy everything our vibrant city has to offer! One of the best things about living in North Miami is that, even while we are surrounded by world-class restaurants, shopping, and cultural institutions, there are also plenty of ways to enjoy Miami on the cheap! With so many activities and events happening here this spring, we thought we’d round up the top 5 free things to do in Miami right now.
Greynolds Park is home to a free bluegrass festival and acoustic jam on Sunday, May 2nd from 1-5pm. The event is free, but parking is $7 if planning to drive. BYO food and drink (coolers welcome), with hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and drinks also available for purchase. Spread out a blanket or set up lawn chairs, and enjoy the show! Find more info on the recurring monthly event here.
On weekends, Aventura Mall hosts the Aventura Farmers Market, where you’ll find an array of exotic foods, fresh produce, handcrafted goods, home decor and more from over 75 local Miami farmers and artisans. The event is free, and has been showing local love to South Florida vendors for more than 20 years now. To check out more of what to expect at the market, head here.
There’s no shortage of opportunities for outdoor workouts here in Miami, and fortunately there are always new options to discover right here near the Shoreline. North Miami Beach Yoga Studio hosts free yoga classes in the park, offering a great way to get moving in an idyllic local space. Choose from 3 different classes at 3 different locations, including the North Shore Park Bandshell. Find more info on Nobe Yoga’s website.
Arguably one of the best free activities in Miami, visiting any one of our nearby beaches is a pretty ideal way to spend a day in this paradise we call home. Near the Shoreline, check out Oleta River State Park for sandy beaches and plenty of fun-in-the-sun activities. Haulover Beach is another great North Miami option. Or, enjoy the perfect beach day without ever leaving home at the Shoreline’s luxury private 7-acre lagoon, Laguna Solé.
Hosted by Miami Beach Arts & Culture, New World Symphony’s SoundScape Park is home to a free Cinema Series on Wednesdays through the end of May. Bring a blanket and picnic, spread out on the lawn, and enjoy cinematic classics like “Roman Holiday,” “Avengers: End Game,” and more! Showings begin at 8pm, but arrive early to secure a spot. More info to be found here.
We hope you enjoy these awesome free events happening now near the Shoreline! Let us know which ones you check out by tagging us at #LiveShoreline!
